Default Greetings

Hello all, I've been a 2002 1200 xlc Sportster owner now for 3 years and just now found the forum. I have been trying to decide on the next model to buy and have received conflicting information from dealers on the model that may achieve the standards for my new bike. So I thought why not see what current owners have to say.

Howdy weather and how are ya doin? What I do is I look at all the books on bikes that I can get and all the bikes that I can sit on to see how each feels or looks. To me, both are important. Getting a new ride would depend on what you want to do with it. What kind of riding do you plan on doing with it. I'm sure that you get the general idea. If you have any questions or ideas you're in the best place to get them answered.

Hey Ironhead,
alot of my riding is with my wife and they are 200-300 mile trips usually. I like my sportster but the ride for my wife is not enjoyable on the extended trips. I want something that is still sporty but at the same time comfortable for any passengers. I have been thinking about a wide glide, heritage(not to sporty) and a std softail. I don't like the ape hanger handle bars, so I was going to change them no matter which I choose. We are taking a trip from Baltimore to Niagra Falls this summer and would also like a little more room for luggage. Any advice? I have heard from the dealer that I don't want a softail because of the suspension travel when riding 2 up. I have heard from others the contrast.

Withh regards to your question, I agree with what everyone has posted here. Might I suggest a Road King? The cruiser family is going to give the best ride, and they're designed a little better for the two up. You have the adjustable air suspension in the back so you can always tweak the ride once you get going if neccesary. The Road King has tons of options as well, and can still give you that sportiness you seem to be looking for.

For serious riding, I would go for the EG. They are going to give you the most storage, most comfort and a radio to boot.

Hope you find what your looking for,

Mac
