If you need more power and speed at WOT, go for it. But be sure to careful try that and decide for yourself. Don't let the TIN men sale you something you don't really need.
If you want a reliable long life engine, enjoy it as it is.
The community team will move your thread shortly to a better area. I poked him below for you.
Hope you continue to enjoy your ride here with us on the HDFORUM. Only as a suggestion make another new thread here to say hello.
@Caveman70 as stated this is the Welcome area so you are going to get a lot of Hello's and Welcome's, not necessarily too much technical advice.
So I can move your question to a more appropriate area you will need to provide more details such as year / model / engine (standard, cam, big bore kit, blower etc) and/or exhaust modifications etc. Have these been done, are you thinking of these ??
A stock stand standard harley (ie no changes) normally runs ok from the factory (be it a bit lean to get past EPA regulations) and there may not be a great performance benefit to tuning it. However if you have engine mods, pipes etc etc then that is a whole different ball game.
The devil is in the detail my friend so please provide some.
The short answer is yes assuming you have a good person doing the tune. The more modifications you make the more you stand to gain from having it professionally tuned but even with just an exhaust and intake you'll feel a difference. On my CVO Road King all I have is exhaust and intake and I'm running a downloadable tune from Dynojet on a PCV and I can feel a difference between that and stock. Stand to gain even more with a professional dyno service and like I said the more engine work you do like cams etc the more necessary tuning becomes. I'd say tuning is one of the most overlooked things in the bike scene, anyone that tells you that you full out don't need it probably doesn't have an in depth understanding of how engines work.
