Electrical Question
I am all thumbs in the garage so I am hoping someone can help me out. I am installing a Sirius radio on my HD Road King. The power for the radio is a plug that is intended to go into a cigarette lighter. I want the install to be clean so I am routing the wires under the tank. I can't cut the plug off and wire to the battery because the plug actually steps the voltage down to 5v.
Any recommendations on how to make this connection? Thanks

Disassemble the plug itself and wire the feed side into the plug under the seat, one side of the plug is keyed from the ignition/acc switch, and the other side is power all the time. It's a 4 pin plug so you may have to do a little parts fitting from radio shack or something, but's it's not hard. Hope that helped a little bit, and what kind of speaker setup did you go with?
