Hello everyone I just wanted to share a pic of my '90 Sporty with anyone who might be interested.I've seen alot of nice Sportsters on this sight so I hope mine is worthy. Most of the work was done by me .I did have the motor and trans blueprinted. Here's the run down(not bragging just proud)
Cylinders decked, heads ported and clearenced along w/ the rocker boxes
Weisco 10 3/4:1 forged pistons 10 over
Redshift .615 cams
Baisley racing valves w/ Zippers titanium collars, spring, and stepped guides
S&S lifters,adjust. pushrods,and roller rockers
Daytona Twin Tech single fire ign.
SU carb
---------------------
Trans has Andrews"W" grind 1st gear "C" grind 2-4 w/ Sifton billet trap door
It's a real torque monster and will stand straight up if not careful(especially w/ the ape hangers)
Long live our quad cam, paralel pushrod machines
Hope nobody posted inbetween this post and my first pic.
Sweet bike..love the apes...that is one of the next mods on mine along with an extended front end...not sure if we are going with a wide glide front end or a springer...I am partial to the springer, but we'll see winter is coming soon and she will be getting a whole mess of stuff done to her!!
Thanks for the kind words!I've still got a ways to go,I just ride the bike so much I never have time to finish.Rear fender is gonna be chopped this week before Biketoberfest.Gotta loose that giant brake/tail light.
RedHeadedHarleyLady ,I would definately go with a narrow springer. For me Sportys should be skinny bikes .I've seen some Sportys that didn't look right with a wideglide frontend(some can look real nice too!)
