I have posted a couple of times as I was looking for my Harley... or deciding whether to buy one. Now that it's official and my 2001 FLHT is safely in my garage I guess I should introduce myself.
I live in Boise, Idaho with my wife and daughter. Daughter is a freshman honor student at Boise State. She's studying material science engineering.
I'm an eLearning developer at DIRECTV. I'm also a HUGE Boise State Bronco football fan. I'm also educated beyond anything reasonable and hold two masters and a Ph.D. Many of my friends just call me Doc.
My bike is great (but gets lousy gas mileage). It's more than I ever dreamed. I've ridden off and on since high school. One day, while a confirmed BMW biggot, I decided to test ride a Harley (Heritage Softail Classic) at the local dealer's demo day. After about five minutes I knew I had to have a Harley one day.
The day is here. Though I didn't buy a new one, my 2001 bagger with only 9,500 miles comes pretty close. It is a carbureted model and has been modified a bit. Vance & Hines, K & N, Mikuni carb, aftermarked cams, 95 ci modification. It is a wonderful ride and I'm happy to be a member of the Harley Davidson club.
Welcome brother, now that you are in the group how about a discount on the HD form memberâs DIRECTV cost, it only a group thing, in any case welcome from AZ.
