Another NoObs First Post...
My name is Billy...and I'm an alcoholic. (oops, wrong forum!)
I'm 39 years old and play guitar in a Christian, Heavy Metal band. We call ourselves "The Incredible Rods." And we fully believe the preachings of brother Ben Franklin, "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."
Anyway, I FINALLY got back on a Harley after about 17 years! I bought a Yamaha Seca 750 from a buddy a few weeks ago and after leaving the Hi-po station getting my motorcycle license, I stopped by a Harley shop right down the road just to check it out. The next day (1-19-08) I drove home on my new/used 2000 XL883C!
Here it is less than three weeks later and I just couldn't be happier!!!(weather excluded)
I finally feel like myself again.
I've been scouring the internet for info and found this place. Seems pretty cool. Been lurking for a short time & figured I'ld introduce myself and get to posting. (Too friggin' cold to ride...and I DON'T drive after drinking. And I drink alot! haha)
Well...blah; blah blah - on with the bike ****:

I never did like Popeye and couldn't stand looking at him a moment longer!haha Just before the Super Bowl, I rectified the situation with a rattle-can:

HAHAHA!!!
My tank has a monster dent and rusting at the crimp so I need a new one anyway. Figured, "Eh, screw it..." I will be buying a stretched, single-bung tank soon.

About the cycle: Have come to find that it has been converted to a 1200! WOOHOO!!
I got it good and cheap. The dealer/stealer had taken it as a trade-in only a few days before I got hold of it. It needs some TLC, but for what I paid, I can't complain. Bought the warranty, just in case. Unfortunately, the warranty didn't cover the warped rotor that I've already replaced. Went ahead and did both and new brake pads, naturally. And, of course, an oil change. Still need to check my spark plugs...
Bolted on an HD helmet lock and threw on some cheap saddle bags today. I need to rig them up better, but ran out of time. I think it looks better without the bags, but my life style dictates that I need them. So be it.
Guess that's enough about me for now...I look forward to getting to know you cats in the future.
Be cool,
-Billy
