Hi riders. I recently joined after looking around for a few weeks. Just took delivery on an '08 Road Glide. Have owned '95 FXSTC (Softtail Custom) put on about about 17k miles, 2000 Road King about 26k miles and just sold '03 Road Glide 40k miles. Also currently own a '98 Bourget I bought back then. I try to do at least one long trip a year (over 3000 miles). Last 2 years through Western Canada. Did '03 Harley anniversary in Milwaukee; Sturgis several times, Laughlin, Street Vibrations and Arizona Bike Week regularly, Hollister a few times. Been to Daytona twice (but I shipped the bike, ugh!). Planning to ride to Laconia this summer. I'm a back yard mechanic, in addition to the bikeshave a Ford powered Austin-Healey that I've had since I was a young manand a hot boat I've had since 1963. Recently got into machining having bought a small lathe and mill. Made a nice mount to put my Zumo550 on the handlebars. I'm retired so lots of time for these things.
The pictures are of the Zumo bracket I made. It is from 2 pieces of 3/4" 6061 Aluminum bollted together. I drilled a hole for the Handle Bars, used a small boring bar to open it up to fit the bars then machined the rest to get the shape I wanted. The cradle that came with the Zumo bolts to the bracket. No plans, just cut as I saw fit.
