I'm not new to owning Harleys, but I am new to this forum. My best advice, especially if you live in the Midwest and areas where year-round riding isn't practical -- watch your butt! "Cagers" or people driving cars, aren't used to bikes on the road when it's cold and when it's starting to warm up. And heck, with cellphones and text messaging, it's gotten even worse. I'd also HIGHLY recommend an ABATE course. They'll teach you stuff you never even thought of. I call it OFFENSIVE driving. You gotta be prepared as each ride could be your last.
Now that I've scared you to death - I'm still alive and riding after 25 years, but most of my stories stem either from stupidity on my part or the cager's part. As they say "keep the shiny side up"
