I have to agree with rudedog, I bought a import last year for my first bike, and after logging 3500miles on it, I now have a Road King....I'd rather drop a ricer than a HD...my .02
Hi From Quebec Canada. Glad to have you on board. I undestand that you riding experience is very limited. I would for sure try to rent a few bikes in the different families. I know you said monety is not a problem but still you DONT want to make a mistake. You must ask yourself, will It be for bar hopping , will you ride 2 up, do you plan trips..... and most important you must pick one that really catches you eye.
Welcome Chris,Thanks for the support of our country's effort.
As far as the first bike decision, maybe a used HD for starters, there are tons out there and most have gobs of add ons, then when youre ready for a new one youll have something to bargain with, plus you'll be riding a H-D.
Chris: Welcome! My friend is 5'8" and came over and sat on my Dyna Low Rider and he had both feet flat on the ground. So he is an ex-Sportster rider and sold on the low rider. I am 5'10" and feel real comfortable on this bike. As everyone else advises, try out several but the Dyna is enough bike for you to keep a long time. You won't be sorry. KB
The bike would be used for everything, mostly just 100 and less miles, but I would enjoy taking leave and goin to sturgis. I want my first bike to be something i have for a very long time. Harleys get kooler with age. Id love a panhead or anythign similar. BUt then again I love the Vrod. I Just like harelys period. I think the sweetest bike ive ever put a leg over is a buddys dads custom fat boy.....deep purple paint,10-15 g in chrome, supercharger, and little skulls everywhere. just beautiful. I might go buy a 250 tommorow pick out the harley I want, and when I feel I can go no farther on and import and a 250 at that... then ill get the bike of bikes, the only bike this american boy will prolly ever ride again. Now to pick out the model and fun stuff.....
Oh and one last thing, do you guys ride in any gear? If so list what yall think I shoud get. Thanks alot and sorry for the hassle.
Hey Chris... Lots of GREAT suggestions in here so do not be swayed by anything but your best judgement. That is your best path, OH by the way 06 Dyna's are real favorable to new riders!! Good Luck..
Hi Chris,
Welcome from Omaha, NE home of the USAF "Strategic Command". Whatever bike you end up with I hope you enjoy it as much as I do my 2006 Custom Sportster.
