What's up? It's Wes here, introducing myself to the forum...
Currently - I'm a sportbike owner, GSXR600 - (i know, i know) - however recently I have seen the light and decided to persue purchasing my first Harley as soon as possible! I figured you guys might have some insight as to some things I would need to know about these bikes to make sure I get the best bike for the money...
I'm thinking a super glide or a low rider - these are my two fav's so far...
I'm wanting to be able to use around town as well be able to throw the wife on back and go for long trips...
[sm=welcomesign.gif] Long trips, two-up with your wife and gear? Large Softail (Heritage or a Deluxe with bags and windshield or a Custom with a rack and TBag) or a Touring bike, preferably the latter. Wouldn't take a long trip (depending on your definition) on a Dyna or Sportster. Whatever you pick - you've got to be comfortable.
I have a 2008 dyna superglide custom, i went from el paso to daytona beach, but i trailered it back... its a long drive but one hell of an experience. i totally enjoyed the trip. but long trips like that would be much easier on a road king, or a touring bike something big that has plenty of spaces to carry things. anyway, cant wait to see what you decide on. ride safe!!!
