I never rode dirtbikes or motorcyles growing up, but in my mid 20's i bought a used rice rocket, registered it, and went toget my motorcycle permit. I had no clue how to ride it, so I asked the guy who sold it to give me a 5 minute class on how it worked. he did, and I rode it around the parking lot for half an hour. I rode it home that night, within a week I was riding it everywhere. I finally had a bike, but not a "real bike". My dad had a road king, but would not ride with me (rice rocket). I got tired of riding wheelies up & down my street, and traded it for a Ford Bronco. The dreaming continued.........
well last year it happened,(30 years later at 37 years old)My dad sold me his 72 Ironhead, and bought himself a 96 Sporty 1200. I rode all summer with him, his riding buddies, by myself, with my girl on the back. The bike is not at all whatI expected. I figured it's only a 1000, and how nice can a 35 year old bike ride? boy was I wrong! I Love This bike! I love the look of it, the feel of it on the road, and the looks I get for riding it. When we ride to one of the many bike stops up here, I always get someone checking out my bike and asking questions. I also did not realize how much care you need to give these bikes, but it is worth it when you are in the wind!
Anyway that's my story for now. i am hoping to buy another bike this summer so my girl can ride with me instead of with me. not sure what to get her, but I am keeping this one! : )
