Here's what I have found after buying 2 bikes within 11 months. If dealer A doesn't want to budge, dealer B, C or D will.

Some dealer's feel their stuff doesn't stink so take their price or nothing. Other dealers are actually looking to lure you in by making concessions for #1 volume sales and or #2 to lure you back to spend the real money on parts and service.

In a nutshell: Deals can be had at MSRP with some adders thrown in if you will take the time to shop. You'd be surpised how much you can save by shopping on the phone.

Good luck and happy hunting.

Primo

Welcome from Eastern North Carolina. I found when I purchased my 06 Road King. The dealer stuck to the MSRP however, the freight and set-up was deducted and I also received $500 in free accessories, first service is free and 20% off everything in the store for six mo. Shop around before you make the BIG purchase. Good Luck

TV, welcome. The dealers add all sorts of costs. Destination fees, setup fees, extended warranties, memberships, etc. These are all negotiable. Most are designed to just put money in the dealers pocket.

An most important don't forget to get the two free shirts with every bike purchase. That cost them about $5.00.

Welcome from Kentucky

I shopped nationally and found $1000 in free accessories and no set up fee or shipping on my 06 deluxe. I went to my local dealers and they wouldn't even match that on an 05 and they still had 3 of the exact same bike (but 05's) I was buying sitting on thier show room floor. I do have the cost and trouble of going 10 hours away to get my bike, but for that kind of money, I think it's worth it. Plus, I get to take a trip to get my new Harley, not a D*** thing wrong with that. Do a google search on Harley discounts, free accessories, deals and see what comes up, that's how I found my dealer.

Also, be straight with your local dealer, it is always the best way. I still need them for warrentee work and service, so it helps to play it straight. As my local sales guy said, "we will match any deal within a couple hundred miles, but I don't blame ya for taken that one."

Good luck and be safe.

Hardley Riding.

Thanks for all the input and the warm welcome. I guess I'll give it a whirl, not much to lose. Their are a few dealerships here on Long Island so the competition is there. Thanks again.
