I will look into the rental thing. I live at the Northern edge of GA in Dalton. Closer to Chattanooga TN than Atlanta. If renting is an option I may go ahead and take the safety course this summer and get my license.

I am a newby to this forum and to HD's. Just bought my first HD, XL883L,, although this is definitely not my first bike!! I've had a couple of other bike's. I have always wanted a Harley, and finally decided,at 56 year's old to get it!!! I am enjoying it, and plan to get a lot of mile's in this summer. I really appreciate all the help from the HD guys at the dealership, and from other rider's!! I am going to try for Sturgis this summer, but may not make it this year. I am partially disabled in that I have lost my left pectoral muscle to gangrene 10 year's ago.....although it doesn't seem to hinder my riding in any way. I will be back to this forum as often as possible. I will probably have some question's for other, more experienced rider's. I was taught at an early age that there are no stupid question's, so be prepared.[sm=americanasmiley.gif]

Welcome, I'm also 56 and getting my first Harley within a week or so. Checked you out and saw that you were in Utah, but not sure what part. Closer to Colo. or Nev.? Have you ridden a bike through Bryce and/or Zion. I've been to both. They are both beautiful in their own way. Personally I loved one ( the one w/the mountains) and hated the other (the one w/ holes), however this is from a guy who went to the Grand Canyon and couldn't see the reason for getting out of the car. Just a personal preference. Mountains or oceans and I can spend for ever there and feel my soul being refreshed. Holes in the ground remind me of strip mining and A**holes. Ooops, prolly stepped in it there. Anyway this is all from a guy who lives in central IL where it's absolutely flat. And for good measure, our area of the state is "windier" than Chicago. Glad to have you and enjoy the forum.
