Welcome to the forum. I have an 07 Ultra and utilize the intercom along with my wife every time I ride it.
The sound quality is not bad and I have never had a problem with it.

the wife and I like the intercom, it works fine. Not stereo quality, but it's good. the only trick is originally setting up the vox. just takes a little messing with, and sometimes it has be adjusted if the wind is up while you are riding.
btw, my new '08 Ultra looks like yours.... we really like our bike. Quite a move from a Nomad.
