Hey Guy's,
I rode a old motor scooter in the late 50's and thru the mid 60's. I am now 58 years old, 5' 8" tall and 210 pounds. I finally decided I wanted to ride. Part of the reason was for gas cost but the main reason was because I remembered how much fun it was. I bought a Metric bike, 805cc, lowered it 1 1/2", added accessories to make it comfortable for my wife to ride with me. I bought this bike in March, practiced, took the motorcycle foundation course and have been riding contiously since then. I found a 2003 Police Officer Edition Electra Glide Classic in Memphis a few weeks ago and ended up with it this past Thursday. I was 8 years old when I saw my first Electra Glide (1958), and knew then I had to have one. It's a shame you have to wait sometimes for a long time to get what you want. Kids are grown and gone and not dependant on us for anything now. I know most of you know how I feel now. I can't knock the little bike, it gave me the confidence I needed to learn to ride. This BEAUTIFUL BLUE HARLEY-DAVIDSON ELECTRA GLIDE is something I can't explain. I can quote a friend of mine "When I ride it to work, I am on vacation until I get their". For me and the way I feel, that was a profound statment.
I am now a proud H_D man and glad to be a part of your forum. Thanks for having me and a good day to you all.
