Hello everyone. \\; I finally decided to fight the oil companies and get a motorcycle. \\; My last choice would have been a Harley because I have always heard you have to be somewhat of a mechanic, which I am not. \\; However, I found this sweet 2004 XL883 with very few miles that was priced way below what I thought it was worth. \\; I picked it up thinking I would just sell it and turn some cash. \\; Well, on the way home I thought I heard some valve noise so I did a google search and found HDForums. \\; Thanks to the threads here, I found that the noise is normal and that I am probably smart enough to work on the bike when it needs it. \\; The fact that the Sporty is a kick to ride and is getting me better than 50MPG didn't hurt anything either. \\; Here is a picture of the new-to-me scoot.
Welcome from Bristol England. Congrats on the new bike, enjoy and stay safe. The MSF course is higly recommended.

You think your fuel prices are high. Current price of unleaded over here is the equivalent of $10.82 per gallon! You're right to grumble about the prices, but blame the politicains rather than the oil companies.
