I will try to explain the stage 1 for you. The stage one is a combination of upgrades most people make on their bikes fairly early after purchase for improved performance. It includes the SE Air Cleaner Upgrade and usually pipes. In order to have the bike run properly after modifying the air intake you need to update your EFI (fuel injection). This can be done in several ways at different costs. The cheapest and worst way is to get the Harley download. It is a bandaid fix that usually does not work well. It is easy to install and very profitable for the dealer so they usually recommend it. The SERT (Screamin' Eagle Race Tuner) is the best way to add performance, get rid of the extreme lean running conditions of a stock bike and take care of your modifications. The PCIII (Power Commander) is also a good choice.
Cost (Approx)
Download $150.00
SERT $459.00
PCIII $359.00
