My wife and I are going to get our motorcycle endorsements and get a bike. I'm 6'2"
and she's 5'4". Can we both ride a sportster? How many big guys ride that bike?
Bought a 1200C last summer as a re-entry bike as I had not ridden in 30 years and wanted to make sure I still could.I'm 6' 235 and for trips of 30 - 40 miles it's great but more and my back really takes a beating. Just ordered a Heritage so my back stops achin'.
For two up I would look at a dyna or softail, if you are both going to ride a single bike solo then you need to check out the pegs. 6.2 with mid pegs on a low Harley might not be the best, even if you get highway pegs. But that is just my view, end of the day a motorcycle is a real personal choice. Enjoy and welcome.
A friend who was your height bought a sportster for his first Harley. Lasted 6 months, at which time he purchased a Road Glide. Now he wishes he had gone to the RG for his first bike.
Thanks! I can't wait. I just signed up for my endorsement class (needed in florida). It's September 19, 20, 21. After that, bike shopping we go!
What do you recommend? Used or new? If we buy used, what kinds of things do we look for to make sure it is a good deal and in good shape? Is there another thread this question could go to?
