Hello,
Just turned over 2800 miles on my '04 DWG (4 months), and troubles are showing with the EFI. Idles at 2500 RPM! Still in warranty but disgusted that my old school talents are totally out with this electronic beast... I should have purchased the $3000 scan tool with the bike at this rate.
Sorry, just venting to some who may feel my pain. The dealer will fix it!

Thanks gentlemen, all is well, the bike idles nicely now. but...
Just got my FXDWGI back from the local HD dealer. They said that the DFO was causing the problem. Trouble is; I had suspected the DFO so totally detached it from the wiring (except the ground) and the high idle (2500) was still there. Either they are not telling me what they found or the system performed as it should. The system returning to a normal idle on its own is not a fix because whatever caused the problem is still there and I'm guessing that the high idle will return, but I hope not. I have read that the system will re-learn if the ECM fuse is pulled for fifteen minutes.
What the hey, it is doing fine! They 'fixed' it!
