Welcome to the forum, kind of like DGlide04 said, Mine were looking real bad. purchased a set of chrome ones on ebay and love them. Now am having my stock ones powdercoated for future use.

The pitting is the clear coat, not the aluminum. Take 'em off, strip the clear and polish them. I polished nearly every thing on my Ironhead 10+ years ago. No pitting there. Upkeep is minimal. I just shine it up with Mother's every now and then.

Thanks to everyone who replied. It sounds like powdercoating is the way to go. But I guess I have nothing to loose by trying xxxflhrci's suggestion and try stripping the clear coat and polishing.

I agree with trying to polish them first. Then you'll be able to decide better whether or not to replace them. Oh yeah, hello and welcome to the forums.
