Hey Everyone:
I just purchased a 99 FLHTC and the lower forks are very pitted. This happened to my 02 FLHT also. I was wondering if anyone has come up with a cosmetic solution to this problem or does one just buy a new set?
Thanks:
Grimazda
Chrome will eventually pit and look like crap also, it just takes a little longer than the stock bare aluminum. You might want to look into getting them powdercoated, or better yet, buy a take off pair from E-bay or a friend, have them cleaned and powdercoated and then your downtime will be minimal at best. Powdercoating is quick and provides a real tough/wear resistant coating and should stand up pretty well.
