Gettin' back on the road
After finalizing my (second) divorce this year, this one from the woman who got me to sell my last Sportster, I'm about to pull the trigger on a 1988 FXRS this coming weekend. If I decide to sell this next bike, it'll only be to get another one. I'll never, ever be without one again.
Been riding since my teens, got my first of 2 Sportys in 1997, and never regretted it. I was into the hot-rodded hooliganism of Sportsters, but now in my (relative) old age, I'm ready to do some kicked-back cruising on a bike I've always lusted after.
Of course, the one I'm planning to buy doesn't exactly look like my dream bike. Yet.
This will be a work in progress for a long time, and the final product isn't going to be the flashiest or fastest bike around - it'll look like what I think an FXR oughta look like. Classic, not following passing trends.
Anyway, time to look around the threads & see what I can learn...
