I am twenty years old and never ridden a heavy bike, but thats something I would like to change. I have some experience on dirt bikes, but would like to get into the the world of cruisers, and for reasons that I am sure all of you understand I would like it to be on a harley.
I am 6'2" and weigh 200lbs, and am looking for a bike that I will be able to and want to ride for a long time, any advice on getting started, especially on what to look for in a bike would be greatly appreciated...
+ 1 for what Softail C said and I would add that once you get it take the MSF advance riding course, you take it on your bike and gain great skills. Welcome to the Forum from NY
You've got to decide for yourself. Shop and ride as much as you can. If you still have questions after this at least they will be better focused. Welcome from Vancouver Island in Beautiful British Columbia.
I also started on dirt bikes and raced for a lot of years. Dirt bikes build basics needed for operating bikes in general. The difference is weight of course. Definitley take a riders course. And do the rental thing, it's a great way to get riding time and get the feel of what syle of bike you want. You'r a tall dude so there will be some comfort issues on an smaller bike. Good luck. Welcome
