This might sound weird, but you don't pick the bike, it picks you... walk around the dealership (or several) and see what jumps out at you.
When I became able to buy mine, I KNEW it was going to be a Wide Glide, I loved the rake, loved the forks, loved the forward controls. they sat right and were just too cool for school...
I started looking for the WG for me, but between trips to the dealer and reading everything I could about the Dyna WG, I started noticing the new Street Bobs they had there.
That was all she wrote, it picked me and I have loved it ever since. I liked the way it had the mini apes and some of the rake of the WG (more than the other Dynas), I had been hearing about the "push" that WGs had going into corners, so this was a good compromise for my riding.
The price was good for me, I decided I could do the changes to what I liked seeing in the other bikes, and still be ahead.
have fun finding your bike, have a plan for what you want, and what you want to change on your bike. research your choices and go for it. The right bike will find you.

I can only second the advice previous writers have given. A days rental of each model should give you a better idea of which of the two is the right bike for you. Make sure you subject them to the type of riding you intend doing. For instance, if your planning on doing long distance trips a quick test ride around the block isnt going to tell you how comfortable the bike will feel after over an hours continuous riding.
