Welcome from Texas. oh your here too. well you are in luck. in march over 750 Harleys were repossessed in Austin. The floors are over flowing. if you do get new be sure to have the 1000 miles checkup done free. then ask for another $1000 in free stuff. they will give it to you. with new you get a warranty. With used you save a lot as the upgrade that were done don't count toward the price. shoot me a PM when your ready and I will help you shop. By the way they sell the sportster as the big you keep a year and trade in. if you get a new one now they will give you full refund towards a new larger bike in 12 months. rent a bike first and make the demo rides so you can see what you want and decide what you are going to use it for. I can east add bags and backrest and pinion seat in under 15 min if I want to tour.
thanks tk353, I will definitely shoot you a pm when I'm ready to buy a bike. So is the Harley dealership more likely to give you deals nowadays cause of the slow economy?
First night on a Harley. Got a call from Washington HD on December 8, 2002 that my bike was ready to be picked up. Next day a snow storm was due and wanted the bike in my garage when it happened. So after work I went to pick it up. Got out of there around 9 PM and the temp had dropped to about 20 deg (I tell everyone 8 degrees - but it is all the same). The trip home was 60 miles all back roads. I stopped at every 7-11, gas station, Wawa and was ready to knock at people's houses just to get a cup of coffee. I didn't drink much coffee that night, just held the hot cup in my hands. Wasn't really prepared for cold riding.
