As stated by others, follow at a safe distance. If they want you to join in, the sweeper will drop back and invite you, letting you know where they're going.
Welcome. . . Same as all of the above; if you don't know them you won't be prepared for what to do in an emergency. Had a newbie take off like he was going to the races; stupid me followed and he stopped unexpectedly. . . needless to say my bike got some mod's while I recuperated. Nuff said.
