Hey, have been online looking and have come across some forums but none of them have been very helpful. I have read some post by new guys on this one and you all actually are helpful. So Im going to give it a whirl. Some of my questions will be very stupid to be completely honest…just trying to learn.
Got at 76 sporty, has had some things done to it but couldn’t tell you all of them. Got is off an old friend of my old man. Sticker on forks says XLCH, no kick start, has electric start.
So here are a couple of my questions:
1.Has a oil tank without a filter in it. Should I put a filter on it or can I just go with it and keep up on frequent oil changes?
2.Am having a little bit of a problem finding neutral if bike is not moving. At stand still can not get it in neutral. Rolling pops right in..
3.The forks have been extended about 8 inches. What is the process to get them back to original, is it new forks?
4.Mechanically very strong, have been on it on small rds, hwy’s, around town, very good no noticeable problems except for a little squeek in the rear I haven’t been able to figure out.
I guess ill start with that…thanks a ton beforehand.
