Let me start by saying this site and the people that use it are great. I've been lurking here a while and everyone seems very helpful without any attitude found on some forums. I hope to learn alot here as I am a Harley NEWB!
I too am an Ex-Sport Bike guy. Quit due to a really bad accident in the canyons of San Diego. It's been eight years since my third bike acident but like they say, "It's like riding a bike". Even though it's a Harley, meaning completely different riding style, it doesn't feel like I ever got off a bike. Now it's time to slow it down.
My dad had two Harley's and thought I needed one of them, a Harley. Wow, never thought I would but I've learned in life there are no absolutes. I really like this bike, it truly is a different experience than a Sport Bike. Every time I fire it up the hair on my neck stands up a little. I feel a little ATTITUDE when riding it as well [sm=badbadbad.gif]. He has to send me the front fender, it is being fixed a nick in the paint from the big leather bag's buckle that was on there. I tossed the big poofy seat and am looking for bars, either a 6" rise T bar, (if it will fit) or something else. Since I swapped seats the handlebars are even more uncomfortable now. I'm way too crowded. I think I need to stretch my arms out more.
Well here it is. 1999 FXSTC.
I too switched up after wrecking one of those rice burners... I have always been a fan of the HDs, just couldn't really afford one until now. Welcome to the 4m.
