Appreciate your words of wisdom, oct1949. Here's a brief explanation of the mods in question and how they work together to mitigate the EPA-mandated overly lean condition. The XIED's deal with the FM part of the equation, changing the A/F ratio from 14.6:1 to ~13.8:1 in closed loop mode. The breather mod takes the hot oil vapors out of the intake and vents them to the atmosphere. The mini-AC at the end of the rerouted breather tube prevents suck back of unfiltered air into the engine. Catch can at the lowest point of the breather tube collects the oily condensation/muck that would otherwise have been inhaled into the engine. Same kind of mods to the Buell produced good results. So far, so good with the Fat Bob.
