Just wanted to drop in & let you guys know that hdforums has really been a huge help to me, even before I joined.
I am an experienced dirt bike rider/racer & mechanic, but I just bought my first street bike at 51. The girlfriend & I found a 91 FLHTC that's all customized and has a S&S motor. It ran when we got it, but not very well. We really had no idea what we were really getting - a jewel.
Never having put a wrench to a Harley, I had a huge learning curve to get past to get things done. As it turns out, the bike is in really good shape and was just grossly out of tune, but has many top line components.
We've got most of the bug out now, and plan to ride to Kingman this weekend for a short road trip.
Thanks to all those here, who helped me without knowing it. I hope I can return the favor now that I have joined up.
