Rent a few bikes.
For the $ you're going to lay out, it's wise to know what to expect of the machine you're looking at.
I've talked to other riders that were looking at one machine and went with a totally different family!
Ask your local HD rental joint if you can lay out a days worth of rent money and try various bikes, instead of renting one bike for one day. You may need to do this on a weekday, when rentals are more likely to be slow, but it's worth it. You'll be glad you did.

More important is to Ride Safe and Enjoy the ride.
That Black Ice, Blue Ice is a great color combination. Take the Fat Boy and a Road King out for a test ride and give them some thought. You will not regret doing that, then get the bike YOU want. If you buy something now that you're not quite sure of, I'll guarantee you will be back within a year for a trade for the one you really wanted in the first place and you lose money on that first purchase!
