Default New guy with a question

Hey guys. 50 years old this year and haven't owned a street bike in 20 years. I did take a trip with some buddies up to the night race in Bristol a month ago. Rode a friend's 99 Road King and loved it (700 miles in 4 days) Decided before I got home I was getting a bike. Most of my riding will be 100 miles or less with one or two 200 mile days in a year. Looking at a 2009 Fatboy with the Black Ice Blue Ice color. I can get about 10% off MSRP and a gift card. I am in no hurry to buy, but if this is the bike for me, I want to buy before it's gone.

I know that no one can tell me if this is the bike for me, but looking for opinions and also some feedback on price. Thanks.

Default Sorry if I wasn't too clear

What I tried to say was that I would take a couple of trips - maybe 200 miles a day - each year. I will ride it all the time - at least when I am home. I travel with my job and am out of town about 20% of the time.

I mentioned in the other post about riding my buddy's RK to Bristol. We rode from Charlotte through the moutains to Johnson City, TN and I had a great time. Less than 200 miles on any day but about 700 for the trip. I think that the Fatboy will be fine for the trips I will take, but looking for input.

Thanks for the responses.

I had both a fatboy and a heritage. I ended up putting bags, a windshiel, and a set of highway pegs on the fatty. I've since gotten rid of both and ride an ultra. Momma didn't care for riding on the fatty. She did enjoy the heritage...and she absolutely LOVES the ultra.
