Got my scoot last December. 97 Heritage Springer with about 330 miles on it. (Don't be jealous!) Cool part is my boss had bought it brand new and only rode it a short bit before basically storing it and only bringing it into the light for trips to the dealer for periotic maintenance. Then he decided he might want to sell it and when I showed interest, he decided to show his appreciation for some the "Above and Beyond" things I have done for the job. (Playing Rescue Ranger for customers, and lots of other things that most people think I was insane for doing. Get yer minds outta the gutter, none of THAT!!) Anyhow, comes our annual Christmas party and as I am acting the part of MC (Wearing a tux, no less) He hands me the keys. (NOW you can be jealous!)
I've got it up to about 12k miles already and have been slowly taking care of a couple of minor issues. (Adding chrome and replacing some parts that got a bit rusty.) Just did a little bit of my own touchup on the factory grips. The rubber was getting kind of gooey and sticky, so I got some thin leather and basically wrapped them, using a light layer of glue and then stitching the bottom seam to keep things nice and tight. They look pretty good IMO.
Planning to run this Hog until the wheels fall off and then put 'em back on and run it some more!
