Thanks Really nice forum and the best welcome I have had when joining one.
To answer your question things here are mode expensive than the UK. I found that most things I can find here....lots of machine shops, very very keen on Harleys and all bikes...so can get everything I need. I even have a bike builder whos won a few shows within 1km of me....really really nice guy to chat with. However a little pricey parts here and been orering a lot on the internet from states and UK and still cheaper than buying here.....
Lots of people buying and riding snowmobiles here this winter as exceptionally good. over 3 months below zero and lots and lots of snow. Quite a number of weeks about -15 to -20 degrees C. Not so good for biking as I rode all year round in UK. But at least I can get my bike ready for the summer.
Have you ever ridden in Scandenavia? Its great roads and not much traffic if you ever think of riding here! And so far summers have been dryer than in the UK which is great Although some years it has been the same problems with rain. Most people take 4 weeks off in the summer and this is really really good for doing some biking.
I did come over for couple of weeks at Xmas and found the snow in Uk quite worrying. We have snow studded tyres here and the snow and ice is not a problem.

Reason: mistake in reploy just correcting it.
If and when your considering buying parts from dealers over here, compare the prices with the Harley Dealers in Jersey and Gurnsey because they dont add VAT to their prices.
I thought there might have been some particular food brands you were really missing.
I sued to ride all year round 30 odd years ago, but cant handle the cold in my doteage <g>.

Thanks for the tip on the parts. I will try that
I do not miss any food. But my son misses Branston Pickle! We tend to get people to bring many jars of it everytime they visit. Thats the only real thing I miss.
