Canada - eh

Hello, I began riding at the ripe old age of 47 in 1998. Never been on a bike prior to that. I passed a Riders Safety program to get my license and went out and ordered a Harley. No small in-between bike for me I went straight for the bagger. Picked up the bike a few days later and headed up the Toronto’s Don Valley Parkway – one of the scariest highways for anyone to drive on let alone an inexperienced motorcyclist. But I was confident I could do it. I didn’t have a problem and went on to do several long rides following that over the next few years. I traded the ’98 EG Classic for a 2003 Ultra Classic. Just sold it yesterday and will be picking up the ’10 Limited tomorrow and looking forward to that. My wife would rather a Honda (like her father) but I told her there would never be one of those in my garage. It’s funny though her father is the one who just bought my ’03 Ultra. A few days ago he expressed an interest in buying my bike so I said take it for a spin and let me know if you really want it or not. As mentioned he is long Honda (Goldwing). Well I mentioned to him that the reverse wasn’t currently working at the moment and haven’t had a chance to get it fixed. I showed him how to get it started; he pulled in the clutch, winced at the stiffness of it. I said yes you need to use a little muscle on the clutch because the hydraulics (Honda has these I think) on the clutch wasn’t working either. He takes it out for a ten minute ride, comes back and asks how to turn off the heated seats (the bike doesn’t have heated seats). I said that that’s just the heat from the engine and is an added bonus in the winter and those days when it’s cooler outside. Anyway I’ve got him – he’s another convert.
