Welcome from Illinois. ride all the bikes and go by feel as well as looks. there is always the cost factor too.

agree with some of the others...you really need to get a feel for which bike you want. 90 miles is not like being just around the corner...for the long haul, a road king or glide would be a good choice.

i bought my last bike because of looks and speed, and ended up not being able to take long hauls because it was not comfortable. as a 48-year-old with two young kids, i find that my road king is perfect.

lots of dealers rent harleys by the day, especially around larger cities.. perhaps you could find one that might let you rent one or two at a discount if you buy from them.
