bagger90, I grew up in Port Byron, stone throw north of Rock Island. Lived in Champaign, Carbondale and now the metro-east; just can't seem to break out of the State.
South of Grafton is pretty nice for riding, the middle part of the State is a bore, north, around Port Byron/Galena is sweet.
Best, Don
Had to go up river just to get some hills.
Glad to hear you are having a great time ridding.
If you ever get out this way maybe we can have a cold one on the road.

Finally got the bike out.... three weeks worth of "maintenance", repairs and general... you might want to replace THIS while its here. But I got her back.
I spent two weeks riding locally getting a feel for her and then my brother came down. Over July 26/27th we put 450 miles on our bikes. From Belleville, IL down to Poplar Bluff, MO and then up the Mark Twain National Forest to the Festus, Mo dealership. My brother blew a fuse and they were fantastic about getting him in there and getting it fixed asap. Rode back down to Chester, IL and then home.
The Mark Twain is a phenominal ride for those who have access. Lots of curves, hills and scenic beauty. We took our time and just enjoyed the breeze.
