Hello all.
I am new here and joined just ask a question. I had 18 inch ape hangers. They broke off in my hands and I am lucky to be sitting here writing you.
I am desperate for feed back on how often this happens and what should be the right thing to do on HD's behalf.
All I can say is I never heard of such a thing happening. Also, I asked the right questions when I had them put on. They said this couldn't happen. That there was nothing to worry about or no safety precautions to take.
The bike was 8 yrs old and the apes were put on about 6 yrs ago. I barely ride and never ride hard or extra fast. Rite now HD is saying the right thing and that they will fix all damaged parts but I have a nervous feeling they're going to start nit picking nickle and diming and maybe even changing their minds.
I would love to hear opinions on here. AND MUCH MORE IMPORTANTLY! SPREAD THE WORD THAT THESE THINGS BREAK THE **** OFF! If I had still been doing 60 like I was 1 minute earlier I surely wouldn't be sitting here posting rite now.
