I have owned a couple of HD in the past. I am currently riding a 93 883 Sportster. I enjoy the gas mileage. It is a bagger but I find it much more conveniet for commuting purposes, which is its most common use. Little time for just pleasure riding.
I attend a lot of amateur dirt track races. I have a brother and nephew that race at the amateur level. I usually accompany them and serve as pit crew and whatever else needs doing.
My great Aunt gave me a transmission that she said was from a motorcycle. It is a pre unit trans. One person said that it was from a "45" servicar. Hoping that someone on this forum could confirm or send me in another direction. Here is the description: The side plate is missing but it had eight studs. The bottom plate is held in place by 12 studs or bolts. It does have some numbers on it and ltrs. It has the ltrs Wis and the numbers 35 on the bottom I believe. The top has the numbers 26-165. I can send pics if it would help. It does have a 27T sprocket on it and the shaft that is left sticking out is tapered and has a keyway as if another sprocket fit on it. Thanks Doug
