Default Another New Guy

Hello all .. I am your typical mid life crisis soon to be HD owner. I'm trying to decide what to get. Am liking the Fat Boy model at this point. Not looking to tour ... just ride around town and on weekends. I have a good amount of off road riding experience (from years ago) but have never owned a street bike of any kind (although I have ridden a bunch). My questions are very general. What to look for in a used bike (specific to Fat Boys) and the pros and cons of new vs used. Used bikes certainly seem to hold their value ... I am really asking about any specific mechanical issues with the Soft Tail line in the past ten years.
I have been to all of the local dealers. Not a lot of Fat Boys available (new or used) but half the fun is in the search.
Any help is appreciated ...

Mike

Welcome from St. Louis, MO. If it were me I would look for a spotless bike first, then take it to a reputable dealer and have a wrench look it over.
