Hey everyone, the name is Valter, yes...with a V...lol.
from RI, live in VA, have an 01 Sportster 1200C, and plan on buying an 2011 Street Glide (103 ci) Black Denim in April of next year...and cant wait!
before i go searching, if anyone pleases to answer my first question, please feel free.
Q. if i get the 96ci, would would it be cheaper to get the 110 kit and have it professionally installed, or just get the 103ci and be done with it...what do y'all think?
Can't provide an answer of value to your question, but I did want to welcome you to the forums... I am confident you will get enough information to help with your decision...
IMO U'll be a lot more pleased with a 103 BB kit, performance wise, they will have the cams with them for bout the same coinage.
From what I heard and talked with several wrenchs the new HD 103 Power pack package is just jugs as far as motor work nothing else more than a 96'' but the performance is not all that much more.. (thats talking to our best Master HD Wrench around here, we have 6 dealers in 60 miles to choose from..
For about the 2k U'll get more TQ and HP.. for Ur money just doing the HD SE 103 BB kit..
The 110'' was having trouble couple yrs ago with the rear o-ring to lower case seal. Causing oil leakage.. MOCO might have that issue fixed now ???????????? don't know if its been fixed.
Most dyno sheets Ive seen on the 103 SE kit ends up with 105'ist TQ and 85ish HP, and IMO thats plenty for the average Joe... and still have a dependable daily rider... Also the 255's could be change out for one that has a little more mid, hanging longer than the 255's. Son just did the S&S's 551,, IMO as good as the 255's down low and hangs in longer..
Do the head and U'll add bout 10 more lbs and HP each 115/95 ish,, but then U'll may need to look at the clutch and crank bearing upgrades..
These are just an old mans opinions and observations of the 96'' motors studying cams for the last 4yrs...
