Hey everybody. Well after 20 years with no bike, I'm back aboard. Bought a 1996 Electra Glide Classic yesterday and rode her 144.8 miles back home! Man it was great!! My face is really red this morning, cept for the goggles around my eyes from the sun glasses Retired from the Corps, MGySgt (E-9), in the past I have owned several HD's 78FLH, 77 XLCH, and a couple of others, always did most of the work on them. I really enjoyed the ride back home from St Louis. Bought the Bike from a Bro that fell on hard times, lost his job and wanted to attend Truck Driving School. Got the bike for 6400, which is what he was asking, didn't try to bring the price down after seeing it, it would have been an insult to try an lower the price, man it was sitting there gleaming in his yard, I just gave him the check. I was able to give Chad some advice about his about to be new career. Also told him to call me if he has any questions about trucking will be glad to help in any way I can. After retireing from the Corps in 91, I did the Cop thing for 6 years, then bought a Truck, 1995 Freightliner 120 and started trucking, loved every minute of it. Had a heart attack in April 2005 which put an end to trucking, but not me!! I am 66years old and am not ready for the oblong box yet I plan to live forever and so far, doing fairly well Anyhoo, looking forward to getting a lot of knowledge from all the Bro's here on the fourm about these new engines, and this bike even has AIR RIDE, man just like the old freightliner. Ride on
