Sorry, I can't answer that question with any degree of certainty....

You may accidently find someone with the "wrenching" experience to answer your questions here... but this forum is to introduce and welcome new members.

Post your questions on one of the specific forums to get the answers you really need.

Welcome to the forums. I agree with chasm046, however the gear drives are a good idea, if you can afford it.

Welcome! If you have any crank run out you will have to either adress the crank or stick with a chain or update to a 07+ chain style wich is much more durable compaired to previous chain desighns.

Some say that the gear-driven cams are noisier. I just did a 95 upgrade on my '03 and went with the Screaming Eagle 211s, on the recommendation of someone I trust, who's done a lot of these and directed us on this build. Only 50 miles so far (just finished the work on Sunday), but so far, they feel real good.

Welcome to the forum, +1 or 2 or however many on posting on twinkie forum for the gear cam question, but from what I hear it frees up HP and is more reliable.
