I just traded my 2007 Electra Glide Classic for a 2009 Electra Glide Classic.
My 07 had vanc and hines pipes and I really liked the sound.
I've me a guy who's done work on my bike for the past year and he told me he could put a set of bassani pipes on my 09 much cheaper than the vance and hines. He also told me they sound just as good.
Thanks Rick i appreciate it. I'm 43 years old and i've always owned metric bikes until i bought the 07 electra glide two years ago. I'm sold. Best bike i've ever owned.
Hey Bob ---- I also have an 09 EG Classic. I have Rush slashdown slip-ons with the 2.5 baffle. I like 'em alot, but I think I might wait until you can go to a dealer on a nice Saturday morning & listen to a few bikes. (For me, up here in PA, it'll probably be April or May!) Listen to Classics & Ultras. They'll probably be a different "loud" on non-touring bikes. You can ask people to fire it up for you. They will. When you hear something you like, you'll say, "that's what I want, right there." Sound in pipes, is pretty subjective. I like my Rush slip-ons, but there are guys on here who don't care much for them. I'd say, don't do it til you can get to a dealer or a bike night, to listen.
