Newbie with a starting problem
Hi, I am the proud new owner of an 84 custom sportster. I will post a pic soon. Anyhow, it took me a few months to get it through inspection and deal with a few problems. Now, I'm having a starting issue. I was adusting the idle mixture the other day and when I started it, the starter made a funny noise after it turned a few times. It started, and I took it for a ride. Accidently stalled at a light, hit the starter button, nothing. Popped it and got it home. Tried again at home, nothing. The next day, it started once, but not twice. I cleaned the batt terminals and charged it. Still nothing. I'm thinking solenoid. However, this is my first Harley and I don't know much about them. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Welcome from Michigan! You may want to repost your question in the Sportster and/or technical forum.. They have lots of good advice givers that may not be monitoring New Members.
