Just introducing myself as a rider of various bikes but mainly Harley's. I currently have a 2000 fuel injected Cobalt Blue Road Glide nicely dressed. Also have a 2001 fuel injected Black (as they should be) Night Train with the fully blacked out front end.
My son and I are rebuilding a 2001 Road King Police bike for my brother. It's a tribute bike to 2 of his children who died young. We're completely blacking it out, adding special graphics to honor his children and generally creating a clean, sleek bike by removing auxillary lights, saddlebag guards, fender tips, etc and lowering it a little. I think it will turn out nice. My wife is a very accommodating woman in that the bike lift is parked in one corner of our living room with the Police completely disassembled and strawn all the way around it. We're set to begin powder coating and painting in the next couple of weeks. I'd like to put a build report up here if I can find out the appropriate place to do so.
Thanks to all the members who share their knowledge so freely. Hopefully I will have some to share after this build is completed. Until then, I'm a pretty clueless biker. My son graduated from AMI in Daytona so at least one of us knows what he's doing.
Our home is near Murfreesboro, TN which is about 30 miles south of Nashville.
My son and I do a little buying and selling of bikes as well so we've owned 2 other Road Kings, a very nice Fatboy and myriad other brand bikes over the past few years. Still, there's nothing quite like a Harley.
