Your avatar should be in a JPEG file on your computer. If you want to use a picture you found on a web site you should first download it to your computer and then upload into your avatar file like Heather said.

John,

You will have to modify your picture (resize it) to make it much smaller than the standard download size so that it will fit on your avitar. If it won't accept it, resize it some more until it will take it.

Resize the picture to the size you want it. You might just have to make the pic bigger. Do the same like you did for your avatar, but put in in the "signiture" section of your profile.

Kelly, yes I am an idiot! I went to my profile, and looked around my signature and couldn't find where to set up a picture. Please, Please, Please, more detailed info for my computer illiterate mind.

Thanks in advance!

Joe, read Mac's instructions on how to post a pic except that instead of posting in a message you "post it" in the signature slot of your profile.
