My name is Champ Allen, been riding since i was 17. 1st bike 1946 trike. born in 1952. Have a 1993 HD electra glide classic evo 43000 miles & would appreciate it if anyone could help me out with this issue i have. I'm sort of baffled .
I got my 93 electra glide classic back from th shop with new gaskets from cases up & heads shaved. Had a hot plug in th rear cylinder. Went back got th screaming eagle plug installed rode 140 miles total. Bike will spin fine, fire is good. Will not start. Checked compression 90 front 30 rear . Bike has a total of 43,000 miles on it ! Does anyone have a clue what has caused this ? Head shaved too much ? Something is definitely wrong & I can't get a straight answer around here !

Welcome from Wisconsin. 90 in the front is low and 30 in the rear is defiantly no good. It could very well be a cam issue or a push rod issue, if the heads were shaved alot and the stock push tubes were put back in, it's possible that the valves are not able to close all the way. Put the cylinder at top dead center on the compression stroke, pressurize the cylinder with compressed air and listen in the exhaust for air and also listen to the intake for air leaking past the valves, if it's coming out of the breather you have a ring problem. If you have adjustable push rods the may have been set to tight. Just a couple thoughts. You may want to take it back to the people that did the work and inform them they are going to fix whatever they messed up, free of charge of course.

It worked for 140 miles, that clue makes it a lil more puzzling.
I wonder if the valve reliefs in the pistons were carved deep enough.
Maybe bent a valve? Shaving the heads brings the valves closer to the pistons.
