Welcome to the forum. I personally would avoid a bike that has had lots of engine mods. Nothing really above a stage 1. Also avoid really low mile bike. If a bike has only 1-2000 miles and is 5 or 6 years old the bike was probably never broken in well and not maintained well either. The worst bike I ever bought was super low miles. All the gaskets had dried out, carbs all needed work. Looked great, leaked and ran terrible.
Good points made. I have always thought that way in the past about ATV's, or cars, or whatever. Many times people start messing with engoine mods and if they aren't done correctly, it causes a lot of wasted money, time, and a bad running engine.
Thanks for the other tip. I never really thought that way about a really low mileage engine. Most people think "hey, it's like brand new!" I guess it would probably be better to find something that has somewhere around 10K or so on it. That at least shows that it has been run.
Thanks for the many welcomes. I am looking forward to being a long term member.
