Just wanted to say hi! I am 26, live in MS, and just purchased my first HD, a 2002 Deuce, I will be posting pics soon. I have a question, any help will be greatly appreciated. What is the normal gas mpg on a deuce? Mine has vance n hines(python) pipes, screaming eagle air kit w knn, and is carb, and I am only getting like 32.6 mpg. Runs great, not knocks or anything seemingly bad. Just wondering if that was par for the course. I know with my old yamaha, when I put pipes on it, my mpg went down, and I dont know if the previous owner adjusted the carb for the pipes, or if it is needed on a HD, my yamaha was very ticky when it cane to that stuff. Like I said before, and suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Welcome from Los Angeles. Sometimes when people put on pipes and tuners it can drastically affect your gas mileage. It all depends. What is your config, and is your bike carb or efi?
Thanks everyone! anubisss, to be honest I have no idea what the config is just yet, havent dove that far in, all I know thus far is its carb, with vance n hines pipes(with baffles in) and a screaming eagle air kit. I know with my old bike, something as simle as taking baffles out or putting them in meant re-jetting the carb. The bike does seem to be running rich though. I also run premium gas in it, I've heard tales of some bikes doing better on regular, but havent tried it. Oh yeah, here are a cpl of pics of my new baby. Thanks again for all the welcomes and interest.
